Arriving in a new place on a special day.....

Those of you who know me well will know how little I enjoy that habit of monks and nuns in different spiritual traditions of getting up in the middle of the night to pray! Maybe PostaHouse will have other daily traditions which will be more "enjoyable".

Though a good shamanic journey through the night (your body may stay in one place and your spirit journey into many places) would be a different thing. A soul (or vision) quest perhaps - finding the voice within while sitting silently through the night on a mountainside.

I find it interesting that I shall be arriving in Posta on 22nd February, the day western Christendom "celebrates" Ash Wednesday - I write celebrate in inverted commas because, according to church rules, you're supposed to fast this day which is hardly a cause for celebration; not in my book, anyway! For some reason it's arranged so that I "manage to avoid" the carnival-days. No Italian Shrovetide fun for me this year, it seems!

But, I do feel that there is an interesting aspect to this timing.

Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent, a time which commemorates when the prophet Yeshua (better known by his western "Jesus"-name) having just received water-initiation at the hands of his cousin John in the River Jordan, starts a 40-day vision quest in the desert region. To test his mettle, so to speak. "Do you really want to do this?" come the voices in the night!

So, how appropriate that I should be arriving on the day when we "celebrate" the beginning of that famous vision-quest ca 2000 years ago! Here in Posta, my very own vision-quest!

I invite you to imagine what visions you can have about what PostaHouse can do and will be. And, maybe, your own place in this vision.
